Mr. Marco C. Janssen, one of the two presidents of UTInnovation and Chief Commercial Officer is a utility industry professional and entrepreneur with over 18 years of industry experience, possessing both depth and breadth of knowledge across several areas within the Utility Industry.
He possesses technical, commercial and management skills based on 6 years of hands-on engineering, maintenance and project management experience working for two utilities, 6 years of consulting experience working as an international senior consultant for a leading consulting company and, over 3 years experience as manager marketing and business development working for the regional department of a large EPC contracting company providing products and services to many industries including the utility industry, and of course more than 3 years in leading UTInnovation whilst providing a variety of consulting services, lectures, papers and articles to the industry worldwide.
Through broad experience he has the ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams including Development, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Technical Support.
In the technical areas he has a strong understanding of, and experience in, Conventional Control Systems and Substation Automation, Protective Relaying, Quality Assurance / Quality Surveillance, Standardized Communication, Seminars and Training, SCADA/EMS Systems, Project Management, and Marketing, Sales and Business Development.
Furthermore he is participating in international standardization as an active member in Professional Societies both National and International. such as the Dutch National Committee for IEC TC 57 - NEC 57, IEC TC 57 WG 10, 17, 18 and 19, Cigré B5 WG32 and the IEEE PSRC.
Mr. Janssen is a well known trainer and speaker at a large variety of conferences and events. He is the current author of the "I Think" column in the PAC World magazine.
He holds an BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic in Arnhem, The Netherlands and has followed many additional educational programs and training courses to develop further skills to support his professional activities.
